A GROUP of quick-thinking Port Elizabeth residents prevented a daylight robbery yesterday after the suspects’ getaway vehicle got stuck in a ditch in front of the house they were about to plunder.
The four men were arrested after a joint effort by Overbaakens residents, Walmer police and K9 unit members at about 11am.
Police are searching for two more men who fled in a Citi Golf.
A passerby became suspicious when he saw the suspects in front of the Keet Street house.
Chervandre Kingsley, 21, and his friends, Roberto Williams, 21, and Muhsin September, whose age is not known, went to investigate.
The four suspects are due to appear in the Port Elizabeth Magistrate’s Court tomorrow for burglary.
