SHE has been the official new Live presenter for only a few days, but already Port Elizabeth starlet Luthando Shosha is looking forward to newer and bigger projects that her new job will open up for her.
Shosha, affectionately known as LootLove, was announced as the new presenter for SABC live music show Live on Friday night, much to the delight of her friends and new-found fans.
Already difficult to get hold of, with photo shoots and other commitments, LootLove said she was looking forward to her new journey as the latest addition to “the biggest music show in the land” – according to her co-presenter Bonang Matheba.
“It’s all been so overwhelming,” she said. “I’m just trying to focus on my new job and to fit into my new environment.”
The former Collegiate girl – who was sworn to secrecy after she was told she had won last Wednesday – said she cried “like a newborn baby” after receiving the phone call.
“I realised my world had just changed in an instant and the thought of leaving my family behind just got the better of me,” she said.
The next few weeks will be all about settling in and finding a manager.
“My No1 priority right now remains Live, but I am looking to learn more about the production side of things,” she said.
The self-confessed workaholic – who is in Johannesburg reeling from the glory of winning the coveted presenter job – said it felt weird getting up on a Monday (her favourite day of the week) and not having to rush to work anywhere.
Anticipating being compared with long-time Live presenter Matheba, LootLove said while Matheba was a great person, they were very different.
“Obviously, people take a while to adapt to change and there will be comparisons, but we’re really very different. But it’s going to be a plus working alongside her,” she said.
Port Elizabeth songstress Nomhle Nongogo congratulated Shosha on Twitter shortly after she was announced as the new Live presenter.
