THE SA Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) has postponed a hearing set down for Wednesday and Thursday involving another hate speech case against ANC Youth League president Julius Malema.
“Our reasoning was that we wanted to give the court proceedings an opportunity to run and then after that then we can see what we can do,” said SAHRC spokesman Vincent Moaga.
The SAHRC was scheduled to hear a complaint by the Afrikanerbond against Malema for singing “shoot the boer”.
A similar case has been brought by AfriForum and is currently before the Equality Court in Johannesburg.
Judgment in that case has been reserved.
