DA leader Helen Zille says it’s been a great election for her party. She says: “If I can get this election result dancing, I’ll do it a lot more in the future”.
Zille says the real tragedy of the election was the collapse of Cope.
She says if Cope had held on to the votes in got in the national elections in Tshwane and Nelson Mandela Bay then the DA would have done better in those areas.
ACDP leader Rev Kenneth Meshoe says he’s not excited by the results he’s seen so far.
He says the greatest challenge for parties like his is that people have been told they’ll lose grants if they don’t vote for the ruling party.
Meshoe thinks door to door campaigning is the future of electioneering as shown by the ruling party.
