The semi finals and final of the 41st Herald Schools Quiz get underway at the Feathermarket center in Port Elizabeth tomorrow morning (Saturday 12 March) from 10am.
Tension is mounting ahead of the clash with six schools still in running after gruelling preliminary rounds this week. They are Collegiate, Muir College, St Thomas Secondary, Brandwag, Strelitzia and Alexander Road.
Since 1965 only 13 schools have ever won the title, which has been relinquished by defending champions Westering.
Of the finalists Collegiate won in 1973, St Thomas got a hat-trick of wins between 2000 and 2002 and Alexander Road have won on five occasions.
Brandwag, Strelitzia and Muir are yet to put their names on the trophy.
Big prizes are up for grabs and organisers are inviting friends, supporters and the general public to be part of the action.
A laptop computer will be awarded to the school with the most support while loads of other prizes will be on offer.
The Quiz is co-hosted with the Working World Extravaganza Careers Exhibition which offers free career guidance resources to senior learners. Entrance is free.
