WESTERN Cape police divers were this morning still searching for bodies from the aircraft crash near Plettenberg Bay. Divers began searching very early this morning. They are struggling because of poor visibility due to weather conditions in the area,” spokeswoman Captain Bernadine Steyn said.
“Some of the bodies have been recovered so far.”
The plane had been travelling from Queenstown to Plettenberg Bay when it crashed while trying to land near the Robberg Nature Reserve in heavy fog on Tuesday.
Chief executive officer of tile company Italtile, Gianpaolo Ravazzotti, was one of nine people killed.
The others were: Gia Celori, Aletsia Krause and Marilize Compion of Italtile Ltd, Sava Di Bella of Prima Bella Bathroom Accessories, Simon Hirschberg of the company Grainwave Pty Ltd, Jody Jansen van Rensburg of CTM Alberton, pilot Bronwyn Parsons and co-pilot Alison van Staden. – Sapa
