NMMU’S annual Isisusa Music Concert has grown so much over the past seven years that it has this year expanded to include an Isisusa Music Indaba, taking place today at the South End Museum.

The concert, held on the main stage of the PE Opera House on Saturday night, has unity and healing as its theme and this will be reflected in the indaba.

The PE Opera House, Mandela Bay Development Agency and NMMU are presenting the indaba as a collaboration to explore and measure the practicalities of the local music industry and its musicians.

To this end, it has invited strategic role players and stakeholders to engage with local musicians and share practical tools to contribute to their development.

South African Traditional Music Awards nominee Lilitha Bidla will headline the concert, which is at 6.30 for 7pm.

The Afro-soul singer will be joined by Nelson Mandela Bay hip-hop artist Early B, vocalist Marelize Marx, the group Cliq Claq, the Soul Sisters, Axis, spoken-word artist PoeticSoul and others.
