Money ain’t a thing for the Gupta-owned television news channel ANN7, which has booked Latino queen Jennifer Lopez to perform at the third annual South African of the Year event.
Actress, singer and American Idol judge Lopez will be the main act for the awards ceremony, taking place later this month.
She follows in the footsteps of US singer Nicole Scherzinger, English diva Ella Henderson and US heartthrob Jason De Rulo.
ANN7 editor-in-chief, Moegsien Williams said: “It is an honour to secure an international artist like Jennifer Lopez for the awards.
“As a news channel, our hope is to always produce content of international quality.
“Hosting Jennifer Lopez, one of the greatest international acts in the world, proves how we have become a drawcard as a country.”
And if reports are anything to go by, the Ain’t Your Momma singer ain’t cheap.
In March, the 47-year-old performer reportedly charged Russian billionaire businessman Mikhail Gutseriyev $5-million (R67-million) to perform at a family wedding.
And to keep her happy while she is in here, The Smoking Gun reports that ANN7 will have to meet a long list of stipulations.
These include providing the star with a 15m trailer or dressing room that has two entry doors and must be decorated completely in white, including drapes, tables, couches, flowers and candles.
This room should also have a CD player kitted with current hip-hop and salsa music, a television set and DVD player.
Another requirement is that there should be no catering in the actual dressing room except for beverages and that Lopez gets a large comfortable chair for hair and makeup.
J-Lo also wants Caribbean food, a variety of fruits, drinks and balanced honey peanut bars.
The performance is on November 25.
