Theodor Herzl Primary School invites you to join the audience for its school musical Honk! from September 22 to 28.
Based on Hans Christian Andersen’s The Ugly Duckling, Honk! tells the story of an odd looking baby duck, Ugly, and her quest to find her mother.
It will be performed at the school from September 22 to 28.
Soon after Ugly is born, she is seduced away by a wily Cat who wants to eat Ugly for dinner. Ugly manages to escape but has no idea how to return home.
Along her way, she encounters a beautiful swan, Sonny, tangled in a fishing line. After saving his life, the two birds fall in love. However, he must return to his flock and fly south for the winter.
Eventually, Ugly’s mother finds her frozen in snow. Luckily, her warm tears manage to thaw her out and she comes back to life – as a beautiful swan!
Soon, Ugly is reunited with Sonny and the two swans decide to live the rest of their days in the same pond as Ugly’s loyal mother.
Honk! is a timeless tale and the children at the Walmer primary school have thrown themselves into the production with verve.
