A National Woman’s Month high tea “Celebrating the Best of Who You Are” saw three high-profile Port Elizabeth businesswomen address an audience of 160 women on Saturday afternoon.
AMG Media Consulting in partnership with Sisterhood Events and Projects presented the tea at the Old Grey Club in Glendinningvale.
Sonja Tifloen, a director at BLC Attorneys, was the opening speaker, followed by Kobie Potgieter, owner at RE/MAX Independent Properties, and Absa provincial managing executive Tshiwela Mhlantla as the main speaker.
All three businesswomen shared their personal experiences in financial skills, banking, property, legal disputes and developmental opportunities.
Organiser Adelina Mbinjama Gamatham said the afternoon was made extra special as Potgieter and Mhlantla brought their daughters along to the high tea – the first time Potgieter’s daughter, Carmen ever heard her mother speak in public.
Tammany Barton and Qhayiyalethu “Que” Silinga were masters of ceremonies for the afternoon, Enrico Damons sang, and there was an exhibition room for those wanting more business information.
The event also allowed women to network and develop partnerships to assist other women in their career paths.
