Martie majored in Painting and graduated in 1992 at the University of Cape Town’s Michaelis School of Fine Art. After completing her studies, she mastered the art of making paper with plants and natural materials that she then incorporated into collage-paintings.  After several years, she returned to the canvas with renewed passion and a deeper understanding of composition. The excitement of constantly experimenting with mixed mediums and different techniques resulted in a variety of abstract painting styles. Martie works with interior designers and her ocean-scapes have been exhibited and sold by Arteriors in Plettenberg Bay and The Cotton Mill in Port Elizabeth. She also paints on commission.

13.ANNI KOCK – 15 PROVIDENCE PLACE, OLD SEAVIEW ROAD  ( close at 1pm on Sunday)

Ever since I can remember, portrait painting and drawing have been a hobby of mine. I took art as a subject at school and studied art at the University of Stellenbosch. Unfortunately, I have not worked in the field and for many years .In 2010 I was able to finally live my dream of simply being able to paint in my home studio. I have had one solo exhibition thus far and a few commission works but most of my work is sold online through my Facebook Page. Some of my paintings are on exhibition at the Hogsback Gallery, Stone Cradle in Pretoria and at Ja Ja Custom Design at Bergmann’s Nursery in Centurion.  I mostly paint in oil: I paint people and contemporary landscape paintings.

She completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication at the University of Potchefstroom as well as extensive Nursing Training. Her art career started as a hobby and now she operates as a professional full time artist since 2003. Her works have been exhibited in Port Elizabeth (Cuyler Gallery, Montage Gallery, Water Road Gallery, Keith Johnns Gallery, Kerchhmann Gallery, Elaine Hopewell Gallery, Anthenaeum, NMM Museum and Kuhne Boekkooi Gallery). She has had works up in galleries all along the Garden Route;  in Kleinmond, the Strand, Pringle Bay, Hermanus, Swellendam, on Route 62 and Plettenberg Bay.  Many private homes boast her works here and abroad.

13. LINDA LEITCH – 15 PROVIDENCE PLACE, OLD SEAVIEW ROAD ( closed at 1pm on Sunday)

I have been dabbling and having fun with ceramics for a number of years, and it continues to be food to my soul.Although I have no formal training, it has enabled me to express my thoughts and ideas into a tangible reality. The country in which we live has so much to draw from and I thoroughly enjoy recreating that into my work. My pieces have evolved over the years, I look forward to what is ahead, and the journey is definitely not over.
