Stars rock red carpet with designer chic
Fashions at the annual Grammy Awards ceremony are far more funky than the Academy or Emmy Awards, with musicians ready to rock the red carpet with as much creativity as they show on stage.
The style stars at the 57th awards evening in Los Angeles included pops of colour from singers Taylor Swift, who opted for a full-skirted, leg-baring turquoise Elie Saab gown, and Rihanna, who wore a billowing, layered pink Giambattista Valli dress.
Pharrell Williams, who last year wore an oversized hat that inspired its own Twitter account, opted for a reflective silver tux and shorts combination that created havoc in pictures with photographers’ flashes. His wife, Helen Lasichanh, on the other hand, opted for an unlikely grey jumpsuit.
Both outfits were head-to-toe Adidas Originals from the rapper’s own collaboration with the sports brand.
Singer and fellow fashion-lover Gwen Stefani showed how to wear a jumpsuit with a little more style.
White and black were the favoured choices among many of pop’s leading ladies, including Stefani in a black mesh Versace jumpsuit, Ariana Grande in a white and silver one-shouldered Versace dress and Katy Perry in a white sheer, fitted Zuhair Murad number teamed with lilac hair.
