The Gilbert & Sullivan Society’s Valentine’s cabaret is celebrating its seventh year of bringing love and laughter to Bay audiences over the Valentine’s week with this year’s offering, That’s Our Song.
This is the first time G& S has asked their patrons and friends for input and some of those brilliant suggestions have been included.
Add to that a multi-talented cast of 20 singers, dancers led by the dynamic Andrea Morris, loads of fabulous songs and a great night’s entertainment is guaranteed.
This year’s cast includes Liske Potgieter, Glen McIlroy, Kerry-Lee Jeffrey, Jason Humm, Jenna Deysel, Andrea Morris, Charl Vollgraaff, Suiyen Smith, Denver Berry, Mignon Venter, Richard Campbell, as well as Rose Cowpar.
That is just a taste of the talent who will perform an eclectic range of songs. Audiences can enjoy hits from Moulin Rouge, including an exciting Roxanne Tango, Eden’s Superhero, Holding Out for a Hero, golden oldies such as Smoke Gets in your Eyes and My Baby Just Cares for Me, the smash hit Happy, a Bruno Mars medley plus some hilarious comedy numbers.
That’s Our Song will be held on the February 12, 13 and 14 at the Savoy Theatre starting at 7.30pm. Tickets are R70, or R500 for a table of eight and seating is cabaret style so patrons are welcome to bring along their own snacks.
Bookings can be made with Rose Cowpar on 072-906-1977 or e-mail email@example.com. A cash bar and coffee bar will be open with a wide range of wines, spirits and ciders at reasonable prices.
Although G& S are celebrating Valentine’s Day, this is a show for everyone, not just couples – have a girl’s night out, get together with a group of friends or bring your book club or work party.
