High school sweethearts get fairytale ending

Bridal Fair 2014 winners Shana and Lyle Wolfaardt tell how they were treated like true royalty

Never in her wildest dreams did Shana Kramer think she had any hope of winning The Herald Boardwalk Win A Dream Wedding competition last year but after their wedding at Slipperfields last month, she can stop pinching herself.

Shana’s name was drawn from more than 1 000 entries at the province’s biggest annual bridal fair in May for a prize of a wedding worth R225 000 with sponsors covering every aspect of the big day.

“Before it was announced that we’d won, we were sitting at the Bridal Fair, holding hands and not saying a word to each other.

“When we heard our names, we jumped up for joy,” the new Mrs Lyle Wolfaardt said .

“Planning the wedding was a breeze because Slipperfields and Party Design consulted me, made choices that made me happy and treated us like royalty. Since I was a little girl, I always pictured myself wearing a princess gown and I got to wear three different fairytale dresses thanks to Gerhard Meiring Couture and Mums Fabrics.
