There is only one week left to enter the 2014 The Herald Bride and Groom of the Year competition, so get those wedding pictures sorted and send one in before entries close at noon on Wednesday February 11.

An ocean cruise on the MSC Sinfonia tops a prize list valued at R65 000 for our winning couple but all 12 finalists will receive the following prizes at the gala finale cocktail party at the Beach Hotel next month:

  • Ultimate Stylists: Each bride in the final 12 will receive a L’Oreal product hamper and treatment and blowdry to the value of R913 each. The grooms will each win a haircut and blowdry to the value of R160;
  • Pollen: Each couple in the final 12 will receive Pollen’s florist’s choice of a seasonal bunch of flowers;
  • The Herald will give a three-month electronic edition to each couple in the final 12.

Over and above this, one couple in the top 12 will receive a weekend stay for two at the Addo Elephant Country Estate, with bed and breakfast included to the value of R3 000.

The competition is based on photographic judging, and all photographs submitted from 2014 weddings will be considered. After entries close, a short list of 50 photographs is selected by an in- house panel at The Herald and then this list will be narrowed down to 12 finalists.

The Herald readers will also have the chance to cast their vote for the winner, and one reader who correctly predicts the winner will take home great prizes ranging from a one-night stay at the four-star luxury self-catering Thunzi Bush Lodge, including a gourmet picnic with a bottle of bubbly, to cookery classes from 3 Fat Fish Catering & Events, a rose-gold watch from Francarlo, flowers from Pollen, haircut from Ultimate Stylists, a Defy microwave, photographic shoot from Sphere Photographic and prints from Kodak Express Photo Excellence, and a subscription to the e-edition of The Herald.
