The Herald Boardwalk Bridal Fair best stand winner – Johan Wolmarans from Designs by Johan – shares matric dance trends.

EVERYBODY wants to feel like a celebrity and there is no better time to shine like your matric ball.

Following major celebrity inspired trends the matric girls aspire to embody their favourite fashion trend setters.

Styles vary throughout but the Grecian look in flowing fabrics and nude colours are making a serious fashion statement this year. Slightly embellished gowns showing off a serious emphasis on a singed waistline and soft flowy skirts brings out their inner goddess.

The other extreme is the very fitted dress showing low back detail. This style even though more conservative in design is ultra sexy in cut and classic features such as mesh and lace tattooed back detail, long sleeves and squared shoulder detail.

Slits also made their appearance again and are anything but modest. Colours seem to be either pale and nudes but white black and red has also joined the race in being the most wanted colours to wear.

My advice to my clients is to always be yourself. Be comfortable in what you wear only then can your inner diva come to the ball. Away with Google and Pinterest and find that gorgeous girl in yourself and make her shine. Showcase your best features and disguise the flaws.
