Ford Fairlane still fit as a fiddle - Deal of the week

[caption id="attachment_35768" align="alignright" width="620"] RETRO RIDE: This classic 1970 Ford Fairlane 500 will take you down memory lane and just about everywhere else[/caption]

THIS Ford Fairlane 500 is a classic Deal Of The Week.

It is not often that one can buy a stylish trip down memory lane.

The 1970 Ford Fairlane 500 represented the seventh generation of the iconic Fairlane series of vehicles which were produced by Ford between 1955 and 1970.

The series of vehicles was named after Henry Ford's estate, Fair Lane, in Dearborn in Michigan in the US.

This model, which is in pristine condition, has been in the loving care of its Humewood, Port Elizabeth-based owner for the past five years. Its important duties during this period have included serving as automotive eye-candy during short drives along the beachfront and stylishly transporting wedding couples.

While the Fairlane, like many of the vehicles built during its era, is not frugal on fuel use, it delivers raw V8 power and a solid, exceptionally spacious body and interior.

If you appreciate classic, eyecatching cars, need a ride with plenty of space for you, the kids and the kitchen sink, or even a vehicle for special occasions such as weddings, this may just be the retro ride for you.
