OFFROAD driving can be very challenging at the best of times and those who have completed a 4×4 course can save money and protect vehicles from sometimes serious damage.

So doing one of the many courses available is a good idea.

Such a course may be done at the Isuzu Off-Road Academy, which was launched in 2010 as an off-road driver training academy for existing and potential Isuzu customers. The academy is expanding its off-road driver training offering to include a tougher and more comprehensive two-day advanced 4×4 driving course.

“Our popular training programme has received numerous requests, from people who have undergone basic 4×4 training in the past, for the introduction of a longer, more challenging module.

“We have responded with the introduction of the new two-day advanced 4×4 driving course which will offer more intensive training for experienced drivers and avid off-road enthusiasts,” lead instructor Grant McCleery says.

All instructors – including McCleery, Marius van Vuuren and Fanus Kruger – are certified as 4×4 driving course instructors by the South Africa Qualification Authority. The academy is also an accredited advanced driver training institution and all successful candidates are issued with a certificate upon completion of the course.

The academy can be contacted on (011)431-2000 or at www.isuzu.co.za

The courses offered are:

  • One-day basic 4×4 driver training course: R1500 excl Vat.
  • Two-day advanced 4×4 driver training course: R 2500 excl Vat. – Bobby Cheetham
