LA FEMME will give you a “heads up” on next month’s The Herald Boardwalk Bridal Fair each week until the actual event, to be held from Friday, May 23 to Sunday May 25.
Today we’re giving you a sneak peak into on-trend headgear.
Inspired by Kate Middleton’s 2012 wedding to Prince William in London, more and more brides are opting to go the “less is more” route for head adornment.
After all, even designer Victoria Beckham wore a fascinator style hat to the royal wedding, giving a fashionista’s stamp of approval to the tiny yet effective accessory.
Closer to home, creative Kary Meyer of Kary M Designs is renowned for her fascinators, and this year will be showing stunning Grecian inspired headpieces.
Designer Nicolette Norkie, one of the entrepreneurs mentored at the Hope Factory, creates fascinators that will be paired with wedding wear made by fellow emerging entrepreneur Morshe Schoeman.
The Hope Factory in Port Elizabeth is an enterprise development organisation, effectively governed by the SA Institute of Chartered Accountants, which supports entrepreneurs like Norkie and Schoeman.
The fair will be held at the Boardwalk conference centre and visitors can enjoy five fashion shows with a dazzling range of wedding wear for bridesmaids, brides, grooms and more.
