Be at our bridal fair to win the big prize

SO, just how do you go about winning the big prize of a wedding at Slipperfields worth R225 000?

It’s the question every couple planning a wedding for 2014 would like to have answered. This is how the competition works:

You have to be there! The prize will go to someone present during the draw to be held at The Herald Boardwalk Bridal Fair. As this is an attendance prize it means that as far as the fair goes, you have to be in it, to win it.

No copies! Only original newspaper entry forms published in The Herald and Weekend Post are accepted; no photo stats or facsimiles. This means, yes, you have to buy the paper – or beg, borrow or scrounge from friends, family and colleagues.

Although some critics claim this skews the chances of winning against someone unable to buy a lot of copies of The Herald, this is not necessarily the case. For example, last year’s winners of the prize – newlyweds Carmen and Gideon van Rensburg – sent in only six entries. It is all in the luck of the draw.

Visit the Slipperfields stand at the bridal fair to deliver your entry. Out-of-town entrants may post their entries but these must be received by Thursday May 22 as they will be taken to the Boardwalk to be added to the same sealed box as the hand-delivered ones.

The winner will be chosen at random after the final fashion show of the fair, between 4.30 and 5pm on Sunday May 25.

If the winner is not present because they do not live in the Nelson Mandela Bay metro, a family member may collect the prize on their behalf, but they must bring a copy of the entrant’s ID to the draw.
