Get ready to win the prize of a lifetime

IT IS almost time to give one engaged couple the chance to celebrate their marriage vows with up to 200 guests at the gorgeous Slipperfields wedding and function venue on the outskirts of Port Elizabeth – and this year the prize given away at The Herald Bridal Fair at the end of next month is nudging close to a quarter of a million rand in value.

The entry form will be published on La Femme’s wedding and celebrations page each week and elsewhere in The Herald and its sister newspaper Weekend Post – when space permits – until the fair over the weekend of May 23-25.

It is a fabulous prize, worth more than R225 000 and the biggest in the history of the popular competition.

Last year’s winners – Carmen Landman and her fiance, Gideon van Niekerk of Uitenhage – celebrated their wedding at Slipperfields last month. Keep an eye on your La Femme for pictures of their big day.

Details of the prize are contained in the entry form on the facing page, so here is just a glimpse of what the bride and groom can look forward to:

SLIPPERFIELDS will host the wedding ceremony in the on-site chapel and the reception afterwards, with comprehensive service of linen, cutlery, crockery, and glassware. Slipperfields will also offer a wedding planner to help the winners work out the details of their grand event, which includes more than a dozen sponsors in various fields. After all, to coordinate the vintage bridal car, the photo corner set-up with props , waiting staff and barmen, wedding favours, decor worth R10 000, champagne for the toasts, welcome cocktails for each guest, the groom and bestmen’s dressing room, the bridal suite before and after the wedding will be quite an undertaking – and these elements are just Slipperfields’s part of the prize!

FAT CATS CATERING will present a three-course menu for 200 guests, including canapés, starters and main course, prepared by its international chef. Over and above this meal, it also will give a candy buffet table, and include sound and lighting equipment from Enjoy Productions, and flowers from J A Floral which Decor Company at Slipperfields will arrange for the tables and bouquets.

These two sponsors alone add up to R120 000, but there is so much more offered by: Party Design, Views Boutique Hotel and Spa, Tavcor Motorent, Images 1 Hair Academy, My World Creations Videography, Sphere Photographic, Gerhard Meiring Couture and Mums Fabric, Jenni Gault International, B L C Attorneys, House of Bakes, Words with Wings and a newspaper subscription to The Herald and Weekend Post.
