Chance to learn more about sublime art

UNDERCULTURE Contemporary's director, Cedric Vanderlinden, will take guests with an interest in creativity on a stimulating journey into the concept of "Sublime", and its significance in contemporary art, tomorrow night.

The two-hour lecture starts at 6pm and is not just aimed at art experts, but open to everyone.

Vanderlinden said the evening was a chance to do something different, and enjoy good food and bubbly, while discussing arts and culture.

Vanderlinden has just completed his masters degree at NMMU on the subject of "Sublime". Underculture Contemporary had a long-range educational agenda, since the arts "cannot go anywhere without an engaged and educated public", he said. This is the second event the fine arts gallery has hosted and Vanderlinden has others planned.

Tickets for tomorrow night are R200 and include sparkling wine and snacks. Seats are limited to 20 people.
