Anniversaries

LYNDALL AND MARVIN DERROCKS

NMMU publications practitioner Lyndall Sa Joe and applications specialist for UTI Marvin Derrocks celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary this year.

The Mount Croix couple married at the Ebenezer Centre in December 2009.

“I married my best friend, the man God intended me to be with, the man I prayed for. We are by no means perfect but we are definitely perfect for each other,” Lyndall said. “We understand each other. My husband is special because he loves me with all my flaws.”

NELISA AND BULELANI VETO

CAPE TOWN couple Nelisa and Bulelani Veto recently celebrated their wedding anniversary by renewing their vows at La Cigale with the same pastor who married them 10 years ago. Telkom buyer Nelisa Mama and airport company South Africa landside manager Bulelani Veto were married at the Motherwell Seventh Day Adventist Church in January 2004 by Pastor Maxengane. “Marriage is not easy but with respect and communication it works. We have three children; Lunabile, 8, Ayola, 6, and Azingca, 2, and without them, I think we’d fall apart,” Nelisa said.

CAROL JEAN AND KEITH FOURIE

NELSON Mandela Bay socialite Carol Jean Masters and Silver Cloud Spur owner Keith Fourie celebrate their 31st wedding anniversary this year. The Summerstrand couple married in Cape Town, on October 4 1983. “The best moment of our wedding day was arriving at our room at the Heerengracht Hotel where we decided to order room service – the best toasted ham, cheese and tomato ever – accompanied by a mug of Milo,” Carol said.

“We have been together for over 33 years and we wouldn’t want it any other way. We have our own individual personalities. We are husband and wife and the very best of friends.”
