Lauren's family heart
AN all-rounder of note, Algoa FM radio presenterty, Varsity College lecturer and 2014 Half Iron Man athlete Lauren Mungur gives a sneak peek into her favourite room.
She chose her parents' Cotswold home's living area, saying "it's been something of a labour of love".
When Mungur's parents recently renovated their house, the new living room was added. Initially having planned to build a carport, her father saw his little "project" take a grand turn into a living room.
Mungur said it was her favourite because "tying it all together" had been a communal effort.
"My father laid the gleaming wooden floors, my sister gifted my parents the large leather couches. I helped with the painting of the walls and ceilings, and my mother and I have been scouring furniture at home stores around the city".
Describe your style in five words: warm, inviting, simple, classic, comfortable.
On your decor wish list:: a dark brown, leather lounge suite for my new home, and a brand new kitchen and bathroom.
Your favourite colour: I love earthy tones, with splashes of colour for effect.
Your pet hate in decor: clutter and dust collectors. I like open spaces and minimalism when decorating.
Your decor indulgence: white linen. There is nothing better than climbing into a bed with freshly laundered, crisp, white linen.
Favourite character from a movie or book: I'm a bit of Bridget Jones mixed with Elizabeth Bennet from Pride and Prejudice, my favourite female protagonist. Both enjoy a certain amount of eccentricity, accompanied with a strong will and a deep desire for both independence and affection.
