FIVE years of hard work and dedication have made clothing boutique store owner Maryna Nortier a master businesswoman – and being a regular visitor to national fashion shows like South African Fashion Week has stood the designer in good stead with her decorating sense at home.
Her fashion house, Calyx Boutique, is one of Nelson Mandela Bay’s premier boutiques and offers unique clothing from name brands such as Maya Press, Natalie Creed and Cigar Clothing.
Nortier did the interior decorating of her Hallack Road home by herself and showed La Femme her favourite room – her sun-room.
My style in five words: simple, uncluttered, organic, forever changing.
On my wish list: A big Neil Rodger painting (I am lucky to own a very small one!) Best colour: Rich, earthy tones. Pet décor peeve: Interiors that don’t reflect who lives there.
My Indulgence: Beautiful bed linen . . . and perfume.
Favourite character in a movie or book: Mahatma Gandhi. I don’t have fictional favourites.
