Life and music of Bob Dylan

HOT on the heels of a sold-out two-man Bob Dylan Tribute concert in Port Elizabeth earlier this year, East London muso and Dylan maestro Mick Laden returns to the city to do his show. The Bob Dylan’s Greatest Hits concert will be staged at The Old Cash Store on the Sardinia Bay Road, tonight at 8pm.

Laden described it as a “celebration of the life and times of the great songwriter”.

The response he received to his last Dylan tribute at the Music Kitchen in Port Elizabeth was a clear indication he should return.

“The venue was packed to capacity and the reception from the audience was rapturous,” Laden said.

He added the show was exactly the same this time around with the added second acoustic guitar in a two-man format.

He is joined by guitarist Phillip Stone.

Asked why Dylan’s music endures the way it does, Laden said the legendary artist had managed to appeal to music lovers across half a century.

“Dylan is a very controversial icon whose music has captured the imagination of millions of music fans over the almost 50-year span of his musical career.

“I honestly love singing and performing Dylan’s songs and sharing the enduring message that his music conveys.”

Entry is R50 per person.

The Old Cash Store is offering a special price for tables of 10 people who book in advance, at just R400 per table of 10.

People wishing to place advance bookings can call Rory on (041) 366-1211.
