Diners say olé as Mexican eatery dishes up hot meals

THE Mexicans are a passionate nation with a dining experience to match and at Buenos in Port Elizabeth’s trending dining experience of Richmond Hill, you will find a little Mexico to match.

The restaurant has an impressive menu with plenty to choose from in terms of Mexican cuisine. Starters include deep fried jalepeno peppers stuffed with cream cheese (R45), Prego chicken livers (R44) or nachos for R48.

The main course menu has just as much to choose from in terms of the passionate food of the South American country, such as espadatas (skewered cubed fish) at R120 and vegetarian enchiladas at R70.

We enjoyed a main of chicken fajatis (R85) and beef mince tacos (65). The servings were huge and each portion had two tortillas served with salsa, guacamole, fried beans, jalapenos and cheese. The meal is served so that customers can build their own meal. The chicken fajatis was the perfect combination of spicy and delicious.

The tacos was a little hot for a “mild” person such as myself (I calmed the sting with an ice cold cider) but my friend enjoyed it, saying it was perfectly spiced.

Our waitress was friendly and efficient. She went out of her way to make our lunch enjoyable and even offered to take our photograph instead of us trying to take a selfie.

Buenos serves breakfast daily until 11am and has a lunch menu too, which includes sandwiches, salads and pasta.

The breakfast menu has options from R20 for croissants to R45 for Eggs Benedict served with an English muffin topped with spinach and glazed ham. The lunch menu has options from R35 to R65. And for the meat-eaters the restaurant has options from the grill.

Experience the sights and tastes of traditional Mexican cuisine at Buenos in Stanley Street, Richmond Hill in Port Elizabeth.
