Feast on old-style grub

Lynne Gadd-Claxton

ENJOY the sounds of the waves and the smell of the sea with the mouth-watering temptations of the Something Good Roadhouse menu. The recently renovated and much loved roadhouse reopened at the Pollock Beach parking lot with a fresh and hot vibe earlier this year.

The restaurant which specialises in all your favourite roadhouse specials such as burgers, hot dogs, toasted sarmies, grills and seafood, has something good to cater for everyone’s taste.

The venue boasts an impressive view of the sea, and meals can be enjoyed on the deck, inside or even in your car by just flicking your headlights for service.

We enjoyed a late lunch of a grilled chicken, avocado and bacon tortilla wrap and classic fried calamari, both served with hand cut chips – a meal ideal for the summer sun, with a cool sea breeze and served with a glass of wine to end the day.

The meal came to R220 including a tip and we ended the evening strolling along the beach.

Something Good Roadhouse serves breakfast as well. It also has a kiddies selection and has a wide selection of meals ranging in price, from R45 for a jumbo hot dog to R205 for a char grilled 200g fillet with six prawns.

You can end the meal with their “wander fill” waffles or a classic milkshake from R20.

At Something Good Roadhouse you can enjoy a meal reminiscent of a ’60s classic roadhouse from 7am until 11pm daily.
