Good times as stars shine in Bay

PE WAS a hive a of activity over the past weekend. The stars were around for their eKasi tour. It started with dinner at the Beach Hotel with so much food that Skinnerbek forgot about that bikini body for December!

The drinks were flowing and as the night passed by, people started showing their true colours. I must say Siyabonga Shibe who plays Killer on Scandal! is such a cutie pie.

And Mapeseka Koentle, who plays Dintle, could not stop talking about her man.

The sexy Brighton Ngoma, who plays Quinton, had one too many but he still managed to take pics with fans. Kwaito star Mandoza pretended to be busy on his cellphone, while Masasa Mbangeni’s mom could not stop calling her.

Rhythm City’s Bra Kop saw the need to educate us about this country’s politics but I was a little bit disappointed because my favourite actor Mduduzi Mabaso – who plays Suffocate – was not there. However, on Friday, Cubana was the place to be as the stars were taking photos and signing autographs and my mood brightened up when I saw Suffocate himself.

He was a darling! DJ Ashley brought everyone on to the dance floor with his beats.

Saturday was a night of glitz and glam at the Miss MID (gay pageant) at Livingstone Hall. Miss MID 2012 Zandi Sithole looked wonderful in his blue mini dress.

Dahling, I just loved the bald head.

MC Mogamat Mohamed made sure to stick with African time. He was professionally late but that did not dampen the mood as the audience were kept busy by the music.

The contestants, dressed in their mini dresses and killer heels, also showcased their swimwear and cocktail dresses. I can’t wait for the final round which will be on February 14 next year.

Algoa Bay Rotary hosted a golf day in memory of Randall Prins (Liz Prins’s late husband) at the Little Walmer Golf Club, where I met some awesome people. The admin ladies were rocking with a pink and white look for the day.

A whopping R56200 was raised for charity, while the mechanical bull was a hit with the boys – the view was certainly not disappointing. Nothing like watching a man handling a beast. Phew!

Lauren Mungur looked stunning in a short denim skirt – and reminded me of the days when I was still small!

The opening of Next Door nightclub was a bit of an anticlimax after all those social network teasers.

The club is beautiful with great finishes but the vibe on opening night was not what you want from a new club – the dance floor was devoid of people and everyone was huddled in corners.

At a R50 entrance charge at the door with inadequate parking, yours truly will not be ruining her shoes trotting that distance.

Work on the accessibility and you may see a turn around.

Caley Phillips was in her element celebrating her birthday with an all-white party – looking splendid in her ivory dress with gold studs and on the arm of boyfriend Nathan May.

May you have many more – you gorgeous legs girl!

Sevens rugby this weekend and Zahara, what does a girl do when you are wanted everywhere?
