THE Idols dream ended for Port Elizabeth singer Christina Williams last night.
Christina, 21, who has consistently featured among the bottom three, was in the hot seat last night with musician Bunny Majaja, 26, of Florida Glen and Durban schoolteacher Crystalene Nair, 24. The top seven had a group performance of Katy Perry’s mega-hit Roar before their individual performances, backed by a choir on Sunday.
Eastern Cape golden girl Christina failed to impress the judges – Gareth Cliff, Unathi Msengana and Randall Abrahams – with her rendition of the Alicia Keys hit Fallin’.
Cliff said he was concerned about Christina as she had not hit the mark.
“This evening your vocals weren’t great and I felt you were a little uncomfortable. And it was not a good choice of song for you,” he said.
Msengana felt Christina had some “great moments” but there were others that let her down.
Abrahams said she had had “a couple of good nights” but that the challenge with her performing the Keys hit was that she was a “good pop singer and not a soul singer”.
