JUST R10 is all it will take to stand a chance of winning a brand new Volkswagen Polo 1.4 Trendline.
The car – sponsored by Volkwagen Group South Africa (VWSA) – is once again up for grabs in The Herald Christmas Cheer Fund Car Draw competition which starts today.
More than 18500 raffle tickets for the car were sold by the 17 charities last year and R202000 raised.
VWSA spokesman Matt Gennrich encouraged the public to get involved: “Buy tickets, encourage your friends and colleagues.”
The fund’s Beggar-inChief, Steven Lancaster, said he had high expectations for this year.
“I would love to see us grow contributions by 20% or more. In terms of participation, I would love to see double the number of companies giving to the fund,” he said.
“Last year we had companies improve their contributions significantly, like VWSA who upgraded the competition car and Alphapharm East Cape who increased their annual donation by 50%.”
Tickets will be sold by the following charities this year: Cheshire Home – Summerstrand, Retina South Africa, Masinyusane Development Organisation, Aurora Special Care Centre, Community Chest, Echo Foundation, Association for Persons with Physical Disabilities, MTR Smit Children’s Haven, The 1820 Settlers Association of South Africa, Missionvale Care Centre , A.C.V.V, Alexandria Branch of the South African Legion – South, SANTA and Nazareth House.
