PORT Elizabeth artist Mkhululi Siqula, known as Heavy K, is going international.
The 21-year-old Wena star will perform in Canada and the United Kingdom next month.
Since the launch of his debut album, Drumboss 2013, in May, Heavy K’s music has been played at parties across the country. He even stole the show at the Durban July at the weekend.
“Since the release of my album, Wena has been topping the charts at most radio stations. But I am glad it’s not only South Africans falling in love with my music.”
The star is also a composer for Port Elizabeth house music group Point 5, and has contributed to a number of award-winning hit singles.
Even though Heavy K is rocking the charts, he has not forgotten the importance of education.
“I want to study information technology. Education is very important but at the moment I am concentrating on making good music,” he said.
His message for young artists?
“There is no time to relax. You have to work hard to see good results.”
