KHANYI Dhlomo will be in Port Elizabeth on Friday to launch a fashion range alongside top international labels at an exclusive trunk show.
Award-winning South African entrepreneur Dhlomo will be bringing items from her new Luminance Private Label, but the pop-up at No 5 Boutique Art Hotel in Brighton Drive from Friday to Sunday will also feature a selection of luxury brands.
These will include Diane von Furstenberg, Notte by Marchesa, Giuseppe, Zanotti, Sonia by Sonia Rykiel, Tory Burch, Oscar de la Renta, BCBG Maxazaria and more.
“Luminance is based on the kind of retail experience I’ve seen in some of the world’s best department and concept stores, where everything’s aimed at delighting and surprising customers,” she says.
“It provides a carefully curated luxury and contemporary retail experience. It’s designed in a way that’s proudly African, yet global in its feel, with plenty of attention to detail, great customer service and beautiful packaging that makes you feel as if every purchase you make is a special gift for yourself.
“It’s a unique retail experience even for international shoppers, but also a world-class platform for some of our best African artists and designers.”
Luminance is a high-end fashion and lifestyle concept store opening in Johannesburg in July, aimed at consumers who covet world-class quality and beauty.
The store is owned by Ndalo Luxury Ventures, the fashion and lifestyle retail company founded by Dhlomo and the name “Luminance” is taken from her own name, Khanyisile, which means “light”.
Dhlomo describes the clothes in her range as “chic and timeless, with a modern twist … empowering and luxurious”.
The pop-up shop will be held from 10am to 6pm from May 24 to May 26.
