Vusi’s Jazz Bar offers local tradition at its best

VUSI’s Jazz Bar in Walmer Township is an old-fashioned gathering place where people can chill with a cold one and enjoy good company.

The venue at 11 Gamanda Street has two lounges for patrons who prefer privacy and a general area with wooden tables and chairs. It also has two big screen TVs.

Vusi’s Jazz serves a wide range of alcohol and bad behaviour is not tolerated.

Publican Lungiswa Gotyana said: “If you misbehave at Vusi’s Jazz Bar, you get banned for life. We can’t afford to have people who will disturb our customers. We have people who are coming here just to relax and enjoy good music.”

Meals are served during the day and braai facilities are available.

Parking space is not a problem and there are dedicated car guards to look after clients’ vehicles.

“We have a good understanding with our neighbours who do not mind if our customers park their cars in their yard,” Gotyana said.

“I think it also helps that my husband and I grew up in this street.”

Vusi’s plays strictly jazz.

The pub is opened every day from 10am till late. No under-18s are allowed.
