FUNNYMAN Mark Banks – one of South Africa’s favourite comedians – will be at the Boardwalk tonight to help those in the Action Bar prepare for the New Year’s festivities.
He will be joined on stage by the hyperactive, Hannes Brummer from 8.30pm till late for a free show.
Brummer is described as “hyperactive, but never able to sit still long enough to make sure”.
His comedy style is highly energetic and physical with his tongue practically bursting through his cheek.
Brummer has been a member of Joe Parker’s Improv Express and the Starship Improvise for the past seven years.
He has also been headlining spots at festivals such as Rocking the Daisies and Splashy Fen.
Banks, a respected comedian well-loved for his political satire and the poking of fun at the rich and famous, will be tickling the Action Bar patrons’ funny bones in the regular free Friday night comedy slot at the Boardwalk.
Banks has been in the funny business for more than 25 years. He represented South Africa at the 1996 Just for Laughs comedy festival in Montreal, Canada, and has performed with the Bafunny Bafunny tour, among many others.
Entrance is free. No under-18s will be allowed in – and that’s no joke.
