PORT Elizabeth guitar maestro Dave Goldblum who has just returned from Austria where he recorded his new album, is performing a Say Africa, I’m Coming Home show in his hometown tonight.
The renowned acoustic guitarist – who will perform at 2 Target Kloof – has played extensively both locally and abroad in his 25-year career as a musician, and recorded five albums of his own with a variety of South African and international artists.
His music can best be described as a fusion of jazz, folk and African.
His music is original, distinct and a truly South African experience.
Goldblum’s well-known song Say Africa – a homesick ballad of a songwriter’s travels abroad – has recently been recorded by well-known South Africa musician Vusi “The Voice” Mahlasela, and features on Vusi’s 2010 album .
Say Africa was played live at the opening and closing concerts of the Fifa World Cup in 2010 and has had more than 1.5 million downloads.
