THIS year’s Herald World of Wheels Nelson Mandela Bay Motor Fair is breaking new ground with a special event that is attracting national interest. The Motor Fair, hosted by the Eastern Province Veteran Car Club, will hold a high-class auction of sought-after vintage, classic and sports cars, which has seen interest from enthusiasts from most of the major cities in the country.

Knysna-based House of Classic and Sports Cars’ Bert Scheepers says they already have a number of top-end cars entered for the auction, which includes a 1934 Plymouth, 1936 Ford V8 Roadster, 1948 Nash Ambassador, Mercedes-Benz 600L, Austin Healy 100/6, MGA 1600 Roadster, MG TC, MG TD and a MG TF among the line-up.

Scheepers says there is still limited space available for new entries.

And local charities will also benefit from the auction says Scheepers.

The buyers premium (auctioneer’s commission) will be donated to the Eastern Province Veteran Car Club which, in turn, supports charities from these funds.

The House of Classic and Sports Cars, situated at 70 Main Street, is a new multi-million rand dealership in Knysna and already has a number of classic, vintage and sports cars from their huge collection of over 600 vehicles dating from 1930 to the present day on display.

They boast a modern, fully equipped workshop with highly trained Porsche/ Mercedes-Benz mechanics and technical staff on hand to take care of the servicing and repair of Porsches, BMWs, Mercedes, Audis and SUVs.
