“ALL colours, all races. One world united. We dance for peace and the healing of our planet Earth.”
That is the message put out to millions of Earthdance revellers ahead of the annual event taking place next weekend.
Earthdance comprises 350 parties in 50 countries from September 21-23, with Earthdance Nelson Mandela Bay representing the metro’s diversity. Now in its 15th year, Earthdance sees thousands of people gather for the benefit of local charities. In Port Elizabeth, 50% of the profits are going to Autism Eastern Cape.
The Nelson Mandela Bay event, in its fourth year, will see over 50 local and international DJs and 17 bands performing.
International DJs such as Rosa Ventura, DJ Zaghini and 2012Live will be performing alongside locals.
Local organiser Antony de Bruin said: “There is a holistic and natural therapy fair at this year’s event with a main floor where DJs will be performing all weekend. On the second floor bands will perform on the Saturday. The chill area and conscious awareness cinema is on the third floor. The Vortex Trance Adventures crew is doing our psychedelic decor, including a 160m² covered dance floor, nestled between a natural amphitheatre of trees, with the Lady’s Slipper mountain as a backdrop,” he said.
Earthdance Port Elizabeth will be held at Falcon Rock Country Restaurant on Van Stadens Gorge Road, Lady Slipper. Camping facilities are available.
Get tickets at R200 at El Dorado in Parliament Street, Panache in Lennox Street, DnE in Robson Street, and Autism Eastern Cape at 250 Ambition House in Walmer Boulevard.
Tickets are also available at Champs in Grahamstown, Barmuda in Port Alfred and Pelt Nation in East London. Tickets will cost R350 at the gate.
