Children set for holiday fun at our expo

EXCLUSIVE Books and The Herald will be hosting a wonderful programme at next month’s The Herald Clover Kids and Baby Expo, where schools will also offer parents and children a chance to explore their educational offerings.

The third annual expo will be held at the start of the September school holidays from Friday September 28 to Sunday September 30 from 9am to 5pm, at the Moffett on Main Lifestyle Centre.

Exclusive Books will be hosting a morning and afternoon reading experience for children. The Herald will be staging a puppet show that will entice and entertain. 3 Fat Fish Catering will be providing the food stalls and their children’s cooking school, Guppy Club, will take place twice a day at 11am and 2pm.

Partnered with the Nal’ibali reading initiative, The Herald will entertain children with an interactive corner. “The Nal’iBali programme was introduced to Nelson Mandela Bay primary schools to spark our children’s developmental potential through story-telling and reading,” said The Herald chief marketing manager, Justin Peel.

Watch the press, as The Herald will be running a colouring-in competition in the lead up to the expo. Children visiting The Herald stand will also have a chance to enter a competition to win a fantastic hamper. EduPuppets will host puppet shows at 10am and 1pm daily at the stand, educating children while having fun with life-size characters.

The Exclusive Books morning readings will be started by cute and cuddly bear Gruffalo with the store team hosting an interactive reading experience for the younger children. Then, in the afternoons, they will take the older children through the adventures of The Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Delightful tales such as Incredible Book Eating Boy, The Princess and the Wizard, and Mr Stink will all be included.

“Let’s not forget the parents, they also need support when raising children and their own ‘education’,” said Exclusive Books assistant manager Rosalyn Smith.
