A WORLD renowned floral artist from France will be giving a demonstration of this art at the Boardwalk in Port Elizabeth later this month.

Marie Françoise Déprez, a teacher, international demonstrator, judge, director of a French school of modern floral art in Bourg en Bresse and winner of national and international competitions, has written four books on her creative and sculptural compositions, following the fundamental rules of the art of flower arranging.

She will be giving a demonstration at the Boardwalk Amphitheatre at 7.30pm on Wednesday, May 23.

Within the past 18 months she has visited 12 countries around the world, travelling extensively across the globe in search of knowledge and experience doing what she does best: “creating floral art designs”.

For her visit to Port Elizabeth she will be presenting a floral demonstration consisting of 12 large designs within two hours.

The Eastern Cape Floral Art Association is bringing Déprez to the metro and said she was known for her “purity, simplicity of shape and strong clean line”, as well as “beautifying our everyday lives” through her art.

“This is her first visit to Africa and what a privilege to have her coming to the Eastern Cape,” said a spokesman for the ECFAA.

Tickets cost R120 and are available from Sandy Venter, (041) 367-2333, 083-788-5401.
