Win prizes at Expo to style child’s room

CHILDREN’S decor is just one of many features at The Herald Kids and Baby Expo to be held at the Moffett on Main Lifestyle Centre from November 4 to  6 – and one family will win R10000 of vouchers to style their child’s room.
Top furniture and decor companies Little Dreamz and Funteriors will be exhibiting their latest children’s furniture and decor collections as well as providing first-hand advice to those looking to redecorate and innovate their childrens’ rooms.
Small Talk will also host a decor workshop where Julie Smallman of Funteriors will talk on how to apply the latest trends to excite and soothe the littlest members of your family.
Not only will furniture specialists have displays, but one family also stands the chance to win a R5000 voucher from  Funteriors and another voucher of R5000 from Little Dreamz as part of the expo’s competition worth R60000.  See the entry form on Page 16 for the full prize package.
“There is a trend to funky and colourful theme beds ranging from pretty princess beds to funky fire engine with ladders and steering wheels,” said Werner Greeff of Little Dreamz.
“Another trend is in the area of  bunk beds and with bedrooms becoming smaller, bunk beds that includes bookshelves and storage drawers are becoming especially popular.”
Smallman of Funteriors says wallpapers are still being used and “large scale vinyl stickers are increasing in popularity as the possibilities are endless and they are quick and easy to install”.
“Chandeliers and crystal accessories are very popular at the moment with romantic, classical furniture making a comeback. Personalised products are still high in demand.”
The Herald Kids and Baby Expo will also  include Small Talk  workshops throughout the three days, with top medical professionals in the lineup.
The fair offers entertainment and education, wellness and nutrition, furniture and decor, clothing and sport, creativity and crafts, photography and much more.
A live action arena and a creative corner will be hosting all-day fun for the kids which includes gym classes, drumming workshops, paint-balling, soccer, cricket, modeling shows and funky sand art as well as a kiddies playground with lots to see, do and eat.
Food and drink stations will include coffee bars where the adults can relax and fun vendors for the kids, from candy floss to ice-cream, and popcorn to chip and dip.
The  expo will make a great day out.  Entrance is R20 with an additional R20 for all-day access to the Small Talk area.  Once inside all kids entertainment is free.
