Down-to-earth Afrikaaner’s job

DESPITE being the right-hand woman to the most famous man on the planet, Zelda la Grange is not a fraction as famous as her boss Nelson Mandela. And that’s just the way this “very ordinary” person likes it because she seems to be both private and publicity shy.
The down-to-earth Afrikaaner, however, ventured into the spotlight last week at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium to address 360 guests of the South African Rugby Union as a special favour to a friend. Public speaking terrifies La Grange and it was only due to “harassment” from Annelee Murray – the rugby team’s commercial manager, and from Port Elizabeth – that La Grange agreed to speak at the Springbok wives lunch.
Don’t miss your La Femme this week for a report back on “Madiba’s meisie” from Pretoria.
