Join our Women with Drive event

LA FEMME is  looking forward to treating 60   readers to a “Women with Drive” workshop in conjunction with Hi-Q, Goodyear and Atlas Security.
Join us after work on Wednesday, August 10, at Hi-Q Greenacres, and on Thursday, August 11, at Hi-Q, Walmer Park, for an informative evening aimed at making you and your family safe both on the road and at home.
The workshops are being held to mark National Women’s  Day which is on Tuesday, August 9.
“This exciting new initiative aims to empower women by taking the mysteries out of car maintenance with a fun and informative ‘Women with Drive’ evening,” said Goodyear group public relations manager Lize Hayward.
It will include a number of interactive and educational presentations and demonstrations, she said, aimed at empowering women with “basic but essential knowledge about vehicle and tyre care to ensure their safety on the road. They will among others learn how to change a tyre!”
“Hi-Q has a firm reputation of trust and cares about women’s safety – therefore this important knowledge will give them confidence that they need no longer be concerned about unethical car repairers, because they understand their vehicles and the importance of their tyres.” Guests will be welcomed with a small glass of sherry and registration.  Goodyear sales training manager Eileen Gardner will join a panel to brief the audience on basic tyre knowledge and outline safety of tyres, shock absorbers, batteries and brakes.
A representative from Hi-Q will demonstrate how to change  a flat tyre.
After a break for a light finger supper, Atlas sales executive HOD   Jaco Pretorious will speak on personal safety.
“House and armed robberies are becoming more prevalent and we at Atlas endeavour to safeguard our community,” said Pretorius.
“Women play a key role in society and through this method we hope to empower women and their families to improve the safety of their loved ones.”
Every guest will receive a goodie bag containing small gifts from Goodyear, Atlas Security, Hi-Q and The Herald but numbers are limited so please apply soon – bookings will work on a first come, first served basis.
