Bring it On – Bay’s own put on a sizzler show last weekend

IT was lyrics, lekker local lads and lasses, and lingerie for Skinnerbek this past week as your go-getting gossip made a few good turns about town.
And this despite the icy weather that descended on the Bay over the weekend.
Skinnerbek was treated to a feast of talent at the inaugural Bring It On dance concert on Saturday.
It was cool to see that people turned up in their numbers to support the local performing arts, even though it was pouring cats and dogs outside.
Skinnerbek was in awe of the young dancers who pulled off their moves to such perfection and were consistently on cue. And peeps, I tell you, you would have been proud of Skinnerbek trying to hold her own with the dancers, breaking it down to hip hop moves I have only seen on Channel O and MTV music videos!
Your Gossip Girl takes her designer hat off to them, because executing those moves is definitely not as easy as it looks. (My bruised ego and sore back bear silent testimony to that!)
The dance groups De Ja Vu, PE Finest, Execution Style and Transformers were electrifying on stage, while the newest and hottest band Down By Law wowed the crowds with their songs.
Another hit was a performance by the Terrible Twinz who announced they have dropped the “terrible” and are now only known as The Twinz.
I don’t know – I kind of liked that edgier, terrible part. But hey, hats off to them for their latest track called My Meisie (my girlfriend) featuring Andre Mackay of  the group ChapterTHREE.cor Skinnerbek will be in touch with your manager to get a copy of that CD.
Speaking of ChapterTHREE, the trio walked off with the title of Best Vocal Group at the Bay Area Music Awards on Friday night, so big congrats, boys!
Local is indeed very lekker, peeps, let’s keep it real.
Sunday was another cold day but it was super warm at Eddie Macs at the VP Sports Club where a roaring fire blazed while ramp models blazed a trail on the catwalk in a fashion and lingerie show.
The sisters were lovely and slick in their sexy attire and there was even some eye candy for Skinnerbek when the boys also showed they could strut their proverbial stuff. Some of the patrons weren’t too keen about having to give up front row seats when the furniture had to be adjusted though. Maybe they just didn’t want to move from the well rooted table spot they had claimed for themselves because of its proximity to the bar.
But hey, something sultry and warm in the way of entertainment for a laid back Sunday is just what the Bay needs – there’s usually little else
 to do!
