Fashion Extravaganza at the Feather Market Centre

Sophisticate Models presented its sixth annual Fashion Extravaganza at the Feather Market Centre on Saturday, September 9 where 180 models showed garments by 16 Nelson Mandela Bay designers and fashion retail chain Edgars.

Gail Brown offered her modelling school pupils, aged from 4 to 28, the chance to wear formal and informal wear over the course of the afternoon with photographs by Liezel Barrow of Pro-Design Photography.

Bliss Hair and Skin Care styled the hair and make-up with jewellery by Jenni Gault International Jewellery Design and shoes by Kitibella. Alec Van Vuuren

Established designer Alec van Vuuren kicked off the fashion show with a rainbow of colours in evening wear Amanda Knots Amanda Knots - who was one of Sophisticate Models pupils in the past - is now a designer and showcased her new range in shades of cream and blush. Andre Cloete

Andre Cloete presented an ultra-feminine range of wedding gowns as well as dresses for flower girls and bridesmaids. Anita Seale

Anita Seale also stole hearts with her flower girl and bridesmaids' dresses, presenting a fairytale themed collections. The evil queen clad in black was a fittingly Maleficient-inspired finale. Braemore Design

Braemore Lundall wowed the audience with his flamboyant dresses modelling with panache by senior models from Sophisticate. Chocolates for Breakfast and Kary M Designs

Chocolates for Breakfast designer Heather Crompton teamed up with Kary Meyer of Kary M Designs who crowned her models with gorgeous head decor. Flower girls, bridesmaids and party wear were given both a gloss and candyfloss treatment. Culture Cut

Algene Koeberg showed the Culture Cut range she originally presented at Bay Fashion Sunday earlier this year, with shades of gold, teal and mustard. Damelin students

Mentored by Steel Flower, seven students from Damelin College each presented one outfit for the Fashion Extravaganza. Elegant Ivy

Gerhard Meiring presented flirty, feminine and uber-glamourous bridal and formal wear under his Gerard Meiring Couture label. Heinz in Style

Heinz in Style sent out a pack of smartly dressed gents in well-tailored suits. Jason Kieck

Jason Kieck showed his classic and sophisticated style yet again in a figure-hugging, eye-catching collection. Queen M Style Queen M Style was one of few to present day wear on the ramp at the Fashion Extravaganza, which featured maroon velour and cinnamon suedette. Steel Flower Steel Flower jumped into spring with a fresh and light look at bridesmaid and formal wear. Vio Designs

Another former Sophisticate Model turned designer, Vio Designs had her models walk to the theme of "Who Run the World? Girls, Girls, Girls" with a predominantly black and white palette. Krom and Knot

Krom and Knot presented day wear in wearable colours and cuts.
