SAMAS back at Sun City

The 23rd instalment of the South African Music Awards (SAMA) are returning to Sun City on May 26.

The venue is the official home of SAMA 23, after hosting 14 of the award’s 22 previous ceremonies since its inception in 1994.

The SAMAS were hosted at the Durban International Convention Centre last year, while the resort underwent multi-million rand renovations.

The music industry and revellers will see the newly-revamped facilities and the modern amenities this world class establishment has to offer.

Recording Industry of South Africa CEO, Nhlanhla Sibisa, who are organising the awards ceremony said they were delighted to be returning to Sun City.

“The convenience it brings during a weekend of celebration makes it the ideal location for us,” he said.

“We invite local music lovers to join the industry as it makes its trip to Sun City later in the year for a party fit for our country and the continent's finest musicians,” Sibisa said.

With a number of music- lovers the awards attract, The Bokone Bophirima province is sure to be abuzz with entertainment and loads of activities in and around Sun City.

All eyes will be glued to the TV screens to see which artist takes the coveted title of Song of the Year. Last year, Eastern Cape’s very own, Nathi Mankayi took it with his smash hit Nomvula.
