Black Coffee charged with assault

This morning it was confirmed that assault charges have been laid against DJ Black Coffee by AKA’s road manager Tshiamo Letshwene. This comes hot on the heels of an altercation between Black Coffee and Tshiamo‚ which saw the house music maestro planting a stinging smack on Tshiamo. Speaking to TMG Entertainment‚ AKA’s PR manager Sheila Afari confirmed that Tshiamo has laid assault charges against Black Coffee. “Yes it is true. Tshiamo has opened a case of assault against DJ Black Coffee at the Sandton police station. However the case is due to be transferred to the Polokwane police‚” said Sheila. A video of DJ Black Coffee giving Tshiamo a strong slap at the DSTV iRock Music Festival went viral during the early hours of Sunday morning. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ScvU0Bt6Xs4 It is believed that altercation happened over confusion with set times after reports that AKA was late for his set time and his band started setting up during Black Coffee’s set. AKA’s camp have since come out guns blazing saying that they had informed organisers that he would be late due to back to back performances‚ and even had to charter a private plane to get to Polokwane to perform. However‚ during an interview with Sowetan Live‚ iRock founder Rito Hlungwani dismissed the claims saying that AKA and his management “misrepresented” the contract and the schedule by ignoring their time slots. “The parties have a legal agreement which obligates them to perform as per information in that agreement so I think this time you can see that the schedule is misrepresented by artist because it’s official‚” said Rito. Black Coffee has since apologised to his fans for the incident during a performance at Kong on Sunday night. In a series of tweets AKA lambasted Black Coffee labelling him “immature“.
