DJ Cleo puts music on hold for football

DJ Cleo is redirecting his energies to football with music taking a backseat as he aims to own a soccer club in the PSL in the next five years.

This he revealed on the sidelines of the NFD promotion playoffs in Mangaung. The Sohlangana KuFacebook hitmaker‚ now a football agent under the DCF (Dreams Chased Fulfilled) Sport stable‚ said football was top priority to him now that he has put music on hold.

After not succeeding in his quest to become a professional goalkeeper at the age of 34 two years ago‚ the Wheel of Steel boss says he want to make a contribution to the sport.

In fact‚ Cleo has been hard at work at the playoffs since Monday‚ scouting talent for his stable. According to him‚ it was only a matter of time before DCF Sport becomes a fully-fledged soccer academy. At the playoffs by Wednesday‚ he had identified at least four players whom he plans to rope in to his stable.

“Truth is‚ music is not profitable any more‚” he said. “However‚ football is my love‚ man‚ always has been‚ but I started too late age-wise to turn professional so that is how DCF Sport was started: to still contribute.

“Look‚ I am not in a rush because I want to do this the proper way. We are in the planning stages of turning DCF Sport into an academy with the ultimate goal of being in the PSL after five years.”

According to him‚ the five-year plan includes a season in the second division and two seasons in the National First Division‚ and then into the top tier.

What was the thinking behind the name Dreams Chased Fulfilled?

“I am a firm believer that in order for one to succeed in whatever they wanna be‚ they first have to have a dream‚ then chase it until they have fulfilled it.” — TMG Digital/Daily Dispatch
