Dress colour threatens to "break the internet"

The image of this dress has gone viral across various social networking sites - starting a world wide debate about its colour on Friday (27/02/15).
Some insist that the dress is white and gold while others are certain that the dress is black and blue.
A photo of the dress was posted to Tumblr on Thursday, and the world seems to have be divided into two groups since.
