Heavenly delights find their way to me

THE PE Opera House was the place to be last Saturday where the Take Note Jazz Band, featuring Asanda Bam, were doing their thing.

It was well worth attending as Take Note are in a league of their own and Asanda's angelic voice left me speechless.

Port Elizabeth businessman Mkhuseli "Bra Khusta" Jack was there with his wife, Karen, and their children's band, Modern Tribe. In my next life I want a family like this to party with, folks.

Owner of Isingqi Records Thandile Petshwa, who is the manager of Take Note, looked cool in his cream-coloured suit.

He later tucked into several beers with relish. The excitement of the night must have brought a big thirst.

Asanda looked like a goddess in her long black velvet dress with open back.

Take Note looked slick in their hired suits, but perhaps band members Sakhile and Lefa's futures are too bright since they opted for dark shades.

Joyous Celebration member Sylvester Funani seemed over the moon – you'd think he was the one performing on stage.

And Umhlobo Wenene's jazz presenter, Sinbad, decided to do a show of his own. It seems he was trying to dance but Skinnerbek thinks he should stick to presenting.

Next I was off to St George's Park for the Bay's first-ever Grand White event. It looked like a mini heaven with everyone dressed in white. The performances by Boost Entertainment's artists was marvellous and those two cute guys who played with fire had my pulse racing.

Whoever said white peeps can't dance need to have their heads read.

Everyone had fun, and when the French DJ Didier took to the desks I just had to shake my curvalicious booty. Skinnerbek was too tired to do anything after that and so I headed home to bond with my bed.

On Tuesday I attended the launch of a television production skills development project involving Urban Brew Studios in partnership with Bay TV and The Media Workshop.

I was impressed with Siyabulela "My Man" Nozewu who looked clean-cut in checked shirt and jeans. He's currently single – ladies, you know you can't leave the brother to spend the winter all on his own.

I loved Sandiswa Hewana's look, as her red dress looked like it was made for her.

SABC's regional manager Zola Yeye was wearing his trademark navy suit and powder-blue shirt. He has a killer smile but, bhuti, that hairstyle is a no-no.

Bay TV's Suria Jini went blank in the middle of her speech, giggled childishly and then excused herself to get the written speech. When she started again, from the beginning, that was my cue to leave... - Skinnerbek
